“Whenever a man can get hold of numbers, they are invaluable: if correct, they assist in informing his own mind, but they are still more useful in deluding the minds of others. Numbers are the masters of the weak, but the slaves of the strong.”
― Charles Babbage, Passages from the Life of a Philosopher

We are living and breathing in an Age of Integration.
Every action that we now undertake is or can be integrated with the larger system. The only limiting factors being our own imagination, and if it is realizable computationally.
Being an informed citizen of this age "requires the ability to apply computational ways of thinking to design, to writing, to experimentation, to artistic expression, and to problem solving – to the very core of human intellectual activity. In this age, our ideas are no longer constrained solely by what is physically realizable, but by what is computationally realizable." {Hence the popularity of de-constructivism in modern architecture}
........An artist is now able to create an artwork that only exists when someone interacts with it – specifying a framework within which each visitor can create a work of art.
A chemist is now able to search more effectively for new compounds by modeling them before ever going into the lab. Nearly every discipline is changing, not just because of new tools but because of new computational ideas and paradigms." When speaking at meetings or being engaged in conversations at conventions and trade shows, the conventional advice for preparing is to tell yourself you're great, there's no way you can fail.
The more effective stratagem: Instead of saying "I'm the best and I can do it," ask "How can I do it?" It's called "interrogative self-talk," and has been shown to be more effective than positive statements alone. Asking questions leads to answers. It gives you strategies for carrying out your task right at the top of your mind, and reminds you of your motivation. Source: To Sell Is Human: The Surprising Truth About Moving Others

seduction IS THE ONLY ART THAT STOOD THE TEST OF TIME

[And] I have learnt from people's stories, been inspired by their hope, and been strengthened by their coming together.”
― Sharad Vivek Sagar
UPDATED AUGUST 2017
When people come together, great things start happening. For starters, they shun the logic that had worked yesterday, but is obsolete today. They work as one organism — one mind and one soul for one mission, and thus they make something happen that is far grander than themselves.
It is your people who lends color, texture and poetry to your brand. It is your people who brings forth innovation and sees to the health, and the ultimate survival of your brand.
Since we live in an age of innovation, your job as a leader is to prepare your company for the kind of "work that does not yet exist and cannot yet be clearly defined."
HOW do you go about doing that?
For starters, you are sitting on the perch. You should be able to forecast by the soft trends and strategize by the hard trends.
Having said that, in this article, we do not talk about trends but we draw inspiration from 5 books that can help change the pattern of your brand and get you situated for the long haul.
Check it out and see if it does anything for you.

We have reached a point in human evolution where society and technology is moving at a tremendous velocity. The scary part: our brains are not designed to evolve this fast.
“The real problem of humanity is the following: we have paleolithic emotions; medieval institutions; and god-like technology. And it is terrifically dangerous, and it is now approaching a point of crisis overall.” E.O Wison
If you are in the B2B Business or in the B2C business here are two books that are must read for your survival. It will question your business strategy arm you expansive insights. Rebecca Costa in her book, The Watchman's Rattle: Thinking Our Way Out of Extinction, writes how ancient civilizations collapsed because they hit a cognitive limitation. Are we headed for a similar collapse? Can it be prevented?
Brain Solis, on the ther hand, explores the concept of "digital darwinism"– the evolution of consumer behavior when society and technology evolve faster than one’s ability to adapt. In his book, End of Business As Usual, he talks about the persistent pounding of technology, including social, mobile, and real time web. He says, brand executives have a hard time appreciating what needs to change because they don’t live their brand the way their customers do, and if they don’t live it they can’t understand why adapting to evolving audience expectations is so important.

Knowledge is great. Competence is great. But the combination of both encourages people to trust you and increases your powers of enchantment.
~ Guy Kawasaki
You trade show booth is your space that you use for sharing knowledge and inspiring conversation. It is a channel for enchantment. It is the space where your brand image is broadcasted. It prompts people to form perceptions about your company and your products. It is reflected in the angles of your product; it is embedded in the curves of your booth architecture, it is pronounced in the stylistic images, the texture of floor that you walk on and the uniqueness of the furniture that you use. The exhibit design is a powerful display of your brand psychology.
