Socialize Your Trade Shows To Create Novel Opportunities

Posted by sarmistha tarafder on Apr 9, 2018 3:37:19 PM

“The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.”

Think about this for a moment.

Everyday, you spend more time influencing, persuading, or convincing other people to part with their resources, or to carve out a different path for your brand journey. You are either pitching new marketing ideas in your meetings — possible new events for focused user groups, or, why you should try a new color palette, or, a new anchor statement for your product.

And, it is no different when you participate at events and trade shows — you are are pursuing persuasion. You can do it TWO ways.

Living in the 21st century, in the midst of technological overabundance with redundant apps and excessive upgrades and features (that human brain cannot even begin to cope), brands have indeed, become a sorry copy cat of each other in their effort, to out do one another. Since, we, humans, have been conditioned to embrace "the herd, the masses, popular opinion — and to reject what is different, eccentric or stands alone," we have pushed the brands into a "dizzying herd of indistinct options."

With search engines, media portals and social networking sites cluttered with dozens of links and banners ads and magazines scattered with inserts and advertorials, how do we break through the clutter to grab the attention of consumers? Increasingly, the long lost science of tracking eye movements is coming back in vogue as markets figure out how to make eye contact with their target customers.

As technology colors our life and work in radical and formative ways, forward-thinking brands are approaching the wrath of disruptive technolgy in a more holistic way. For example,

"Blockchain can serve as a new foundational protocol for trust throughout the enterprise and beyond. Cognitive technologies make automated response possible across all enterprise domains. Digital reality breaks down geographic barriers between people, and systemic barriers between humans and data. Together, these technologies can fundamentally reshape how work gets done, or set the stage for new products and business models."

Our brain is designed to run on auto pilot.

That is the reason why change is hard, laborious and outright painful. This is the reason why the baggage of lethargy weighs us down, when we have to make a purchase decision for our company that will affect our productivity and the way we conduct our business with our customers. Be aware, that this is the frame of mind of your buyers.

Display Booth Design: The Principle of Repetition

Posted by sarmistha tarafder on Mar 13, 2017 1:55:35 PM

"Basically, the idea is that with everyone striving to be revolutionary, you will be most revolutionary if you try to be ordinary."

Denise Scott Brown

Ordinary does not have to be boring. Ordinary does not have to be sedative. Though, some believe that ordinary dulls the senses and cloaks the wonder of existence.

I say, ordinary sets us up with limitation and it is this limitation that inspires us to glimpse into the realm of extra-ordinary.

Modern Booth Design: Integrated Intelligence

Posted by sarmistha tarafder on Mar 7, 2017 4:01:19 PM

We are living and breathing in an Age of Integration.

Every action that we now undertake is or can be integrated with the larger system. The only limiting factors being our own imagination, and if it is realizable computationally.

Being an informed citizen of this age "requires the ability to apply computational ways of thinking to design, to writing, to experimentation, to artistic expression, and to problem solving – to the very core of human intellectual activity. In this age, our ideas are no longer constrained solely by what is physically realizable, but by what is computationally realizable." {Hence the popularity of de-constructivism in modern architecture}

........An artist is now able to create an artwork that only exists when someone interacts with it – specifying a framework within which each visitor can create a work of art.

A chemist is now able to search more effectively for new compounds by modeling them before ever going into the lab. Nearly every discipline is changing, not just because of new tools but because of new computational ideas and paradigms." Given that an average American attention span in 2013 was around 8 seconds long; it is no wonder that Instagram is one of the fastest growing social media platforms with over 200 million users. (source: Techcruch) Of course, beautiful filters contribute to much of its' success, but, you can also create stunning images and videos and share it across other social channels with the click of your finger (well not really, they just market it that way).
